Dr Yang has picked 37 Tai Chi postures that he believes to be representative of all the forms in Tai Chi and demonstrates them on students, explains the application, and then has the students do the forms. Here are two versions of the 37 posture form movements. There are many variations because the moves can be grouped in different ways. You often find the form broken into 3 sections, beginner, intermediate and advanced.
So don't be too concerned if you come across something a bit different.

37 posture form version 1

    37 posture form Section 1:
  1. Preparation
  2. Opening posture (raise arms)
  3. Right embrace, left ward-off
  4. (Grasp the sparrow's tail) right high ward-off

  5. Raise hands
  6. Single whip
  7. Shoulder press
  8. White stork spreads its wings

  10. Play the lute (pipa / guitar)

  12. Twist step, deflect downwards, parry (left) and punch (right)
  13. Apparent close-up, cross hands

  14. Embrace the tiger returns to the mountain
    (Grasp the sparrow's tail) rollback

  15. Diagonal single whip
  16. Fist under elbow
  17. Step back & repulse the monkey (3 times)
  18. Diagonal flying
  19. Cloud hands (3 times left and right)
  20. Snake creeping down
  21. Golden rooster stands on one leg (left and right)
  22. Separation of right and left foot
  23. Turn and kick with heel
  24. Brush knee (left and right)
  25. Step up, parry and punch (downwards)
  26. Twist step into right high ward-off

  • Diagonal Flying Posture
  • Waving hands in clouds, R style
  • Waving Hands in the Clouds, R style, L Style, and Single Whip.
  • Descending Single Whip
  • Golden Pheasant Stands on One Leg: Right side
  • Golden Pheasant stands on one leg Left side
  • Separate R Foot
  • Separate L Foot
  • Turn around and strike with heel Brush knee L,

  • Step Forward and Strike with Fist
  • Step Forward and ward-off

  • Fair Lady Works at Shuttles, R (1)
  • Fair Lady Works at Shuttles, L (2)
  • Fair Lady Works at Shuttles (3)

  • Grasp Sparrow's Tail, ward off, roll back, press, push and single whip squatting down
  • Step forward to seven Stars of the Dipper
  • Step back and Ride the Tiger
  • Turn Body and sweep lotus with leg
  • Bend the Bow, Shoot the Tiger, deflect downward, Intercept and punch, withdraw and push.
  • Withdraw and push
  • Crossing Hands
  • Conclusion
